This project is a subject-course-based teaching/learning materials progress heightened by digital education technologies to accommodate students’ digital way of life. It aims to construct new course materials which integrates textbook, exercises, class handouts, key content and instructor's guidelines into a more comprehensive and accessible online course companion for courses (LCC1605 Chinese as a Second Language V; LCC1606 Chinese as a Second Language VI; LCC1801 Introduction to Cantonese; LCC1802 Practical Cantonese I; Introduction to Cantonese (For Chinese Speakers);Introduction to Cantonese (For English Speakers). This project addresses this situation with two innovations. First, focusing on direct guided support, the Companion will include step-by-step learning guidance with visual/multimedia components, and the instructors' teaching flow will be materialized as well. Second, focusing on One-stop support, the Companion will be designed as an all-in-one e-resource to provide students insightful guided pre-class preparation, in-class activities and after-class revision. The accurate language usages, grammar points and Chinese characters will be shown by specifically segmented video demonstration, animated graphics and short cartoons. Students can easily follow this interactive platform to study and re-enter for revision. The companion will be stationed compatibly with Moodle system and/or mobile application, students can easily access it and design their own preparation and revision plan wherever and whenever they are while they are studying at Lingnan. The companion will also be a comprehensive e-resource for their self-directed study after the courses provided by Lingnan.
